Do you know what the "official" definition of a SLAVE is?
Here it is:
"slave/sl?v/ Noun: A person who is the legal property of another and is forced to obey them."
Ugh!! How does that sound? Nobody wants to be a slave... to anything (or anybody).
Although you really aren't the "legal property" of your employer, aren't you really, kind-of forced to obey them? You do if you want to keep your job.
And if you don't feel like going in, don't you still have to?
And if you want to take a few days off, don't you have to ask permission?
And if your child is sick and you need to take them to the doctor, don't you have to ask first?
And when your boss tells you to do something, even if it is something you ate, don't you have to do it?
Yes, Yes, Yes & Yes... if you want to keep your job.
I know there are bills to pay and we need to be responsible and take care of our families. We need to work and not expect handouts from others or the government.
But DANG...
There is a better way to make a living and live your life! There are options!
For most people, a job will give them money - and that's about it. An employer will give you this money in exchange for the most precious thing you have - your time.
Matt Morris, in his book "The Unemployed Millionaire" summarizes this very well in the opening paragraphs of his book. He writes...
.. most jobs are nothing more than well-paid prisons. In prison, you aren't free to go where you want or live like you want because of physical barriers. In most jobs, you aren't free to go where you want or live where you want because of financial barriers." So, if you are tired of being a slave to your job, and want to earn a good living while living your life it starts with... A DECISION!Your dream life is just on the other side of a decision!
I realize that many people love their jobs and get a great deal of fulfillment from their work. And that is wonderful.
But, if what I have said so far about a job enslaving you RESONATES with YOU... I want to encourage you, motivate you and challenge you to find a business that you can run from home, on your own terms that will allow you to LIVE YOUR LIFE!
There are a lot of options out there. Take your time and investigate thoroughly. Surround yourself with people who have the same dreams and goals and who also want to break free from from the slavery of the rat race.
ONE WORD OF CAUTION THOUGH... when you choose a business, make sure you choose a business model that truly gives you the freedom to spend your time however you want, wherever you want.
What happens to many people when they become their own boss is they end up trading the shackles from a job that takes up all their time, for the shackles of a business that takes up even more of their time.
Life is short and precious and made to be enjoyed with those you love!
